This short course covers the topics of stress, the causes and symptoms of it as well as mindfulness - a possible antidote to the problem. After exploring the causes and symptoms of stress through vocabulary and reading exercises in the first lesson, the course moves on to go into more details about the different phases that someone experiencing stress may move through. There is a dictation exercise for intensive listening practice as well as the chance to practice reading for gist to check comprehension. After looking at the phases of stress, there is a lesson on how to identify some of the common indicators of work- related stress though a gapped reading text reviewing prepositions as well as the opportunity to revise some common synonyms. The final lesson looks at Mindfulness as a solution to stress, introducing some of the key words as well as the basic aspects of this meditation technique and how to apply them in the workplace. This information is presented and reviewed through reading and listening activities, including a gap-fill task and comprehension questions. The course ends with a review of the vocabulary and content to recycle and reinforce the language covered.
